Local Well-being Plan

What is the Local Well-being Plan?

The local well-being plan sets out the Public Service Board's (PSB) priorities and actions for the next five years to improve the economic, social, cultural and environmental well-being of Newport.

It sets out local well-being objectives, priorities and steps that the PSB proposes to take to meet the objectives.

Once published the plan will be the main focus of the PSB.

Why is a Well-being Plan needed?

Wales faces a number of challenges such as austerity, climate change, poverty, health inequalities, an ageing population, jobs and growth.

To tackle these we need to work differently and to give our children and grandchildren a good quality of life we need to think about how the decisions we make now will impact on them in the future.

How the Well-being Plan was developed

PSB members with other partners identified thirteen emerging priorities, developed four well-being objectives and identified five key cross-cutting interventions to form the structure of the plan and maximise our contribution to the Five Ways of Working and the Well-being Goals.

The well-being plan is currently draft, the final version will be completed following the 12 week statutory consultation which began Monday 27 November 2017 until Sunday 18 February 2018.

Please read the draft plan and complete the online consultation survey either as a member of the public or on behalf of an organisation (links to both can be found below):
