What we do
Following the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 and its statutory guidance (Shared Purpose: Shared Future) a Public Services Board (PSB) has been set up to replace the former Local Service Board.
The One Newport PSB works to improve the economic, social, environmental and cultural wellbeing of the city.
It does this by acting on the sustainable development principle aimed at achieving the seven wellbeing goals.
The state of the city's wellbeing has to be assessed and local objectives that contribute towards the wellbeing goals are set with all reasonable steps being taken to meet those objectives.
In June 2012 the priorities and partnership arrangements were reviewed with a Single Integrated Plan developed for Newport supported by Welsh Government guidance, Shared Purpose – Shared Delivery.
In March 2015 a new streamlined partnership structure was developed based on three themes, which has been updated for 2017-18.
